Wondering where you can catch the next big music festival? Look no further than your own backyard.

This summer, the very first WonderRoad Festival is coming to the MacAllister Center at Garfield Park, located just south of Fountain Square. Headlining the event will be Vampire Weekend and Lord Huron — both alternative Indie bands — in addition to several other well-knowns like Bastille, Chvrches, Milky Chance + Bishop Briggs.

Though this is the biggest music festival to sweep Garfield Park (and Indianapolis, for that matter), the Garfield Park Art and Music Festival + Holler on the Hill have been bringing scores of Hoosiers to the south side stage for several years.

What makes this festival so special?

On top of bringing a number of big bands to the Circle City, WonderRoad also announced a $25,000 grant to Indy Parks, which will be used for its 2022 Indy Parks Summer Concert and Movie series.

Plus, several of your favorite local bands will also be playing the festival, like Fern Murphy + Huckleberry Funk.

Ticket passes start at $99.50 + they go on sale Fri., Dec. 10 at 10 a.m. online or at the HI-FI box office. The dates for the event are June 11 + 12, 2022 and a limited amount of on-site parking will be available for purchase.

Pro tip: You can park outside the venue + use an electric scooter or Pacers Bike to get the rest of the way there.

Can’t wait to see all these bands live? There’s a playlist for that.
