The autumn crisp is here, which means it’s time for another kind of crisp: apples. Apple pies, apple cider, apple brews, apple donuts, applesauce, apple cobbler… yum. 🙌

Oh my gourdness, you can’t forget to mention pumpkin patches, either. Jack-o-lanterns, corn mazes, hayrides, haunted houses… festive. 👻

Check out one (or all) of these eight farms, orchards, or pumpkin patches near Indianapolis to satisfy all of your fall cravings.

Waterman’s Family Farm | Open through Mon., Oct. 31 | Various times | 7010 E. Raymond Street | $12+ | Go on a hayride, get lost in the mazes, ride a train, and watch Tyranny the dinosaur chomp on some pumpkins.

Lark Ranch | Open through Sun., Oct. 30 | Various times | 1611 N. Meridian Rd., Greenfield | $12+ | Enjoy the pumpkin patch, train ride, corn maze, hayride, slides, barrel rides, and animal farms.

  • The city is working to double the fruit + vegetable consumption of residents by 2030, according to Indianapolis’ Division of Community Nutrition and Food Policy program administrator.   • A work program aimed at 18 to 24 year-olds is helping Hoosiers get a second chance at their education and enter the workforce. Youth Build Indy is an 18-week program that offers hands-on construction training and lets participants earn their high school equivalency, in addition to $6,300. Remember when we first told you about this west side project back in May? Well, now you can step foot in one of Circle City Village’s model homes.

To give you a refresher, the community is being created for those transitioning out of homelessness + has been successful in cities like Madison, WI (hey, 608today). It’s located on a 1.64-acre lot at 1318 S. Lynhurst Dr. owned by Lynhurst Baptist Church and a total of 18 homes will be built.

Contact the Village to set up a tour or take a virtual tour right now. Want to get involved? Donate to help the team reach its fundraising goal.
