The holidays are upon us and Indy has an incredible lineup of festive happenings, community events, and seasonal festivals that make us feel very merry and bright.

This week, a city commission is set to consider providing another $25 million to the redevelopment of Pan Am Plaza downtown. The $550 million project includes a $125 million expansion of the Convention Center, plus an 800-room hotel. The resolution doesn’t specify what the additional money would be used for. 💰 (IBJ)
Demolition has begun on the Monon Square shopping center on Range Line Road in Carmel, which is undergoing redevelopment. Many of the businesses there have moved to new locations — including Union Brewing, Roma Ristorante, Club Canine, Antique Emporium, and PJ’s Alterations. 🏗️ (IndyStar)

TheIndiana Department of Health reported that nearly 7% of emergency room visits were for flu-like illnesses during Thanksgiving weekend and local departments saw the highest rate of flu-like illnesses in 10 years. Because of this, all Marion County hospitals are putting temporary visitor restrictions in place, limiting to two immediate family members. 🏥 (IndyStar)

FedEx Supply Chain, Inc. announced it will be discontinuing its management and operation of the facility located at 225 Transfer Dr., which currently employs 179 people. The first phase of reductions will happen between Jan. 31 and Feb. 14, 2023 and it’s expected to be permanently closed by June 2023. 📦 (WRTV)

The Purdue women’s basketball team has withdrawn from a Las Vegas tournament. The decision to pull out of the tournament comes after the continuing fallout from a similar event at a Strip resort where safety concerns were raised by some, including Indiana University women’s basketball coach Teri Moren. 🏀 (WISH)
