Monon 30 — a development project spanning nearly 14.5 acres + costing roughly $100 million — is getting nods from City-County Council. It recently approved a total of ~$15 million in tax increment financing incentives for two residential developments.
Background
The Monon 32 and The Dominoprojects were proposed by Monon Development Group LLC as part of its revitalization project in a near north side neighborhood along the Monon Trail.
The development is expected to take up a four-block section along the trail north of 30th Street, with commercial and housing elements on both sides. The Cradle at Monon 30 — an outdoor entertainment space + beer garden which opened this summer — is the first section of this development to be completed. There are also plans for a 1.3-acre parcel to be used for commercial purposes south of 30th Street on the east side of the trail.

To perform at your mental + physical best every day, proper hydration is key. Unfortunately, most electrolyte drinks are loaded with sugar and artificial ingredients (read: stuff you don’t want in your body).
Enter: LMNT, a drink that replaces essential electrolytes without sugar, coloring, gluten, artificial ingredients or other junk. LMNT tastes great, too — you can even use it as a cocktail mixer. (Hello, weekend hydration.)

Sports
The Colts signed three-time All-Pro guard Quenton Nelson to a contract extension — keeping a captain and one of their top players off the free-agent market. According to ESPN, it’s for four years with an average annual payout of $20 million ($60 million guaranteed), which would be record numbers for a guard. 🏈 (IBJ)
Take me out to the ballgame. Players + coaches from Hagerstown’s Little League World Series team will be recognized at Victory Field before the Indians play the Toledo Mud Hens Saturday night. Gordon Ramsay Steak — featuring dry aged steaks, locally sourced favorites + memorable cocktails — announced it’s set to open at Caesars Southern Indiana casino and hotel late this year.
The restaurant will resemble an upscale pub + the dining room will seat 170 guests. It’ll be the first of Ramsay’s restaurants in Indiana and one of only five locations in the country.
THE WRAP
Today’s issue was written by Nicole.
Editor’s pick: If you’re looking for a place to work remote, COhatch at Circle Centre is a good central spot downtown. I enjoyed checking out the space when it first open + plan to go back for a work day soon. And once you clock out for the day, you’re already there to grab a drink and a bite from North High. Book a tour of COhatch.
