Ever wondered what Indy’s dating profile would look like? Now you don’t have to.

Here’s what we’d imagine the city would say about itself, thirst traps and all.

Fact about me that surprises people

I’m a major foodie. In fact, I made Food & Wine’s list of “America’s Next Great Food Cities” last year and I even have a couple James Beard finalists cooking things up around town.

Dating me is like...

Getting a complimentary glass of champagne at Tinker Street and then pulling up to the drive-thru window at Command Coffee to pay — only to find out the person in front of you beat you to it. Delightful and cost-effective.

I geek out on...

The Indy 500. And college basketball. Well, any sports really. It’s no secret that I like to play host to a number of high-profile sporting events, like the NFL Scouting Combine, NBA All-Star game, and the USA Swimming Olympic Team Trials.

This year, I want to...

Work on myself. I have a few projects up in the air, like making progress on the reimagined Stutz building and completing the tenth mile of the Cultural Trail, in addition to some things from this list and this list.

Green flags I look for

Someone who’s up for anything, especially when it comes to weather. One day a bike ride along the Monon Trail and ice cream at BRICS might be sunny and nice, but the next evening might call for a bundled-up fancy date at St. Elmo’s and tickets to the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra.

My most irrational fear...

Is that people will make assumptions before they get to know me. I may look sporty and obsessed with conventions, but I’m actually super into the outdoors and have 212 parks.

Typical Sunday

I love starting off the day with brunch at Good Morning Mama’s, Landlocked, or really anywhere from this list. Then it’s time for a matinee at the Phoenix Theatre before capping things off with stroll around the Fountain Fletcher District.

Hoosier meet-cutes in the Circle City

A few weeks ago, we asked our readers to spill how they met their S.O., and they didn’t hesitate to spread the love. These are just a few of the meet-cutes you lovebirds had to share:
  • Kaitlyn C. — “My husband and I met at Tin Roof, right after they opened in 2012. We even had some engagement pictures taken there! [...] We went on our second date at The Pub!”
  • Maria F. — “I met my fiancé at Parlor Public House for our first date. Coffee did turn into cocktails over our 4-hour long date. Such a perfect spot!”
  • Kyle M. — “My wife and I met on OKCupid, had our first date at Barbecue and Bourbon, where I also ended up proposing two years later — although not in the restaurant but on the bench outside where I first saw her sitting. Just got married in October. Sometimes the dating sites actually do work out.”
  • Mallory G. — “Met at the Indy Symphony Gala at the Roof Ballroom!”
