Now that spring has officially sprung, we’re planting the seeds for some ideas to get your seasonal bucket list started.
Here are 10 can’t-miss Indy experiences + events to help you make the most of spring in the city.
Indy Eleven Home Opener | Saturday, April 1 at 7 p.m. | Support your boys in blue for the first time this year at IUPUI’s Carroll Stadium for the team’s 10th season or cheer them on next Saturday, April 8 for 317 Night.
Easter Egg 5K | Saturday, April 8 at 10:30 a.m. | Run or walk at White River State Park downtown and then hop right into an Easter egg hunt party for all ages.
xZooberance Spring Festival | Friday, March 31-Sunday, April 16 | The Indianapolis Zoo has expanded its annual spring festival for 16 days of fun with activities running from 12 p.m.-4 p.m., Thursday through Sunday. The Bicentennial Pavilion will be buzzing with live music, dancing, and spring-centric art + activities.
Spring Blooms | Friday, March 31-Sunday, May 14 | Spring into the season at Newfields, no matter the weather, with hundreds of thousands of colorful blooms in the IMA Galleries, the Madeline F. Elder Greenhouse, and Lilly House from the museum’s award-winning orchid collection.
Food Truck Mondays | Beginning Monday, May 1 | Visit White River State Park from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for food trucks every Monday in May. Every week will feature two new food trucks — one sweet and one savory.

Indy Spelling Bee | Saturday, April 1 | 6:30-10 p.m. | Athenaeum Basile Theater, 401 E. Michigan St., Indianapolis | $50-$125 | Indy Spelling Bee is a new fundraiser presented by the creators of the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical, “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” — it’s a spelling bee for adults.

Indianapolis Indians vs. Omaha Storm Chasers | Sunday, April 2 | 1:35 p.m. | Victory Field, 501 W. Maryland St., Indianapolis | $12-$85 | Visit the ballpark for Kids Eat Free Sunday — all children 14 and under receive a free hot dog, bag of chips, and Capri Sun with price of admission.
Monday, April 3
Half-Price Mondays | Monday, April 3 | 10 a.m.-11 p.m. | Back 9 Golf & Entertainment, 1415 Drover St., Indianapolis | $42 | On Mondays, all game play is 50% off at downtown’s golfing destination with 75 driving range bays, a variety of games, local cuisine, and multiple bars across the three story complex.
Heads up southwest side commuters.INDOT is scheduled to finish lane switches on I-465 this weekend. Starting at 8 p.m. today, eastbound I-465 will be reduced to one lane between I-65 and I-70 near the airport, and several eastbound ramps will be closed. (WTHR)
Opening
The highly anticipated Tomorrow Bookstore announced its grand opening date. The independent shop will officially open its doors at 882 Mass Ave. on Saturday, April 15. It will be open from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Get there early because the first 25 customers will get a free bookstore tote bag.
Development
Whitestown is fast-growing. A subsidiary of Carmel-based developer Pedcor Companies plans to build a 400-unit apartment complex near the Golf Club of Indiana. The Maddox will feature 11 residential buildings on ~33 acres, near the intersection of East Whitestown Parkway and Cardinal Lane. Construction would begin late this year with residents moving in mid-2025. (IBJ)

IMS announced pop-rock musician Bryan Adams will headline this year’s Carb Day concert with support from Soul Asylum. The concert is scheduled to start at 4 p.m. on Friday, May 26. Get tickets. (IBJ)
Plan Ahead
The wackiest baseball team is coming to Indy.The Savannah Bananas announced that they will be introducing a ticket lottery system where existing entries will be randomly drawn and offered a chance to purchase tickets, due to high demand. The team will play at Victory Field on June 29-30. (WISH)
Tech
A week after TikTok’s CEO testified on Capitol Hill about the app’s ability to keep user data safe, Purdue University made the decision to block access to TikTok on the university’s Wi-Fi network. People on campus will still be able to use TikTok on their cellular data plans. (WRTV)
