Traffic
  • The city is making moves to improve pedestrian safety. Indy DPW announced it will spend $115,000 to install steel bollards at 22 of the most concerning trail crossings to keep vehicles off trails. Expect to see partial closures of lanes as construction begins. If you witness a driver entering a trail, call 317-327-3811. (WRTV)
Number
  • 16%. That’s how much an AES or Duke Energy ratepayer’s bill could reduce per month from June through August. This is due to falling natural gas prices + push back from advocates who disagreed with the utility’s plan to pass costs to customers when a plant was offline for almost a year. (IndyStar)
Biz
  • Neidhammer Coffee Co. is switching hands. The near east side cafe will be taken over by local nonprofit 91 Place, which provides transitional housing, mental health services, and workforce development for young adults experiencing housing instability. Neidhammer will keep its name and offer the same menu.
Sports
  • IU women’s basketball coach Teri Moren has led the team into an unprecedented season this year — winning the school’s first No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament + No. 2 position in the AP’s women’s basketball poll. Unsurprisingly, she received the AP women’s basketball Coach of the Year last week. Congrats, Coach Moren. (FOX59)

I’m still hoping to see Boot Scoot Fest + All IN Music & Arts Festival announce they’ll be going for round two this year. And does anyone remember Woo Grl Fest from way back in 2019? I’d love to see the women-centered music festival make a comeback soon. If anyone has the scoop on these big events, you know where to find me.
