Local TWG Development LLC plans to spend $17 million to renovate the vacant Grand Meridian apartment building at 3470 N. Meridian St. The company is expected to revamp all 96 units of the building, plus replace its windows, roofing, and other infrastructure. (IBJ)
Traffic
A 60-day road closure to build a new single-lane roundabout is underway in Greenwood at the intersection of Saddle Club and West Stones Crossing roads. A detour route will use SR 135, Smokey Row Road, and Morgantown Road. (WISH)
Pets
Hot diggity dog. Temperatures are expected to hit 90 degrees this week, so Friends of Indianapolis Dogs Outside (FIDO) is reminding pet owners of the Indianapolis Care and Treatment ordinance — which says once temperatures hit 90 degrees, you need to bring your dogs inside. (WRTV)
Community
IMPD’s furry friends are in the running for a nationwide competition. The police department is asking for the community’s help in voting for their K-9s in the Aftermath Cares K-9 Grant competition, which has a $15,000 grant waiting for the K-9 with the most votes. The competition is open until Monday, June 5. Vote online. (WISH)

Cha-ching. Josef Newgarden made history — not just as the winner of the 107th Indianapolis 500. His payout for winning the greatest spectacle in racing earned him the largest purse in Indy 500 history, totaling $3.6 million. (IndyStar)
