🌊 Indy Parks
Summer is one of the busiest seasons for Indy Parks and Recreation — with pools open, summer camps underway, and people looking to spend more time outdoors. Lifeguards start at $15 an hour, pool managers start at $16.50 an hour, and camp counselors start at $14 an hour. Apply online.
👟 YMCA of Greater Indianapolis
The YMCA has focused on experiences that strengthen, support, and empower communities since 1844. It provides opportunities for career growth and on-site training for lifeguards, swim instructors, and other positions. The Y is also looking for those interested in youth programs and health + wellness. Explore opportunities.
🤝 Project Indy
Project Indy is a program created by the city that’s comprised of a network of community organizations, employers, and corporate partners. It provides job opportunities, skill development, and job-readiness training to youth in Marion County ages 16-24. Learn more and sign up.
🚧 INDOT
The Indiana Department of Transportation consists of a team of more than 3,500 people across the state. INDOT hires a wide range of positions including highway + construction engineers, project managers, highway technicians, surveyors, mechanics, engineering assistants, and administrative personnel, as well as professionals in communications, finance, human resources, information technology, and legal. There’s something new at the Indianapolis Zoo.
Recently, the zoo finally unveiled something they’ve been working on for a long time: a brand-new entry experience, which allows visitors to be totally immersed into nature from their first steps inside.
Attendees will have the opportunity to meet a variety of Wild Encounter animals, including a:
Chatty parrot
Sleepy sloth
Slithery snake
Adorable aardvark
And more

Community
Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at Ascension St. Vincent is looking for “baby cuddlers.” The hospital is looking to expand its volunteer program, adding two new shifts of cuddlers to help with a variety of tasks in the NICU. Learn more and apply. (WRTV)
Plan Ahead
The Indiana State Fair will be back for its 166th year (Friday, July 28-Sunday, Aug. 20) with some new safety measures. Children under the age of 18 will need to be accompanied by a parent or chaperone if they arrive at the fair after 6 p.m. The fair also has an updated bag policy. Read more. (WTHR)
Look up. The Crossroads Air Show is soaring to Indianapolis on Saturday, Oct. 28-Sunday, Oct. 29 at Indianapolis Regional Airport in Greenfield. The Blue Angels will be the show’s featured aerial performer. Tickets + parking passes are available online now. (WISH)
Festival
ALL IN Music & Arts announced comedy rock band Tenacious D will be performing at the second annual festival on Saturday, Sept. 9 and Sunday, Sept. 10. It also added Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe and young guitar virtuoso Quinn Sullivan to the lineup. Get tickets. (WTHR)
