Saving money tastes good.
Eating out can be expensive these days — and sometimes you’re just not in the mood to cook at home. We love a good deal, so we’re sharing some local restaurants specials to try for every day of the week.
Slapfish | 339 Mass Ave. | $1 oysters every day at the Mass Ave. location only. Pro tip: You must dine at Raw Bar next door for the oyster promo.
Turners | 1060 N. Capitol Ave. | Enjoy $1 hot dogs and $7 cocktails every Wednesday or stop in on a Friday for live music and $15 pitchers.
Turners is a new bar space at the historic Stutz complex downtown.
Cannonball Lounge | 141 E. Washington St. | Wednesdays are for wine and rooftop views. Get half off select bottles of wine every Wednesday.
Bocca | 122 E. 22nd St. | Start the week off right with $1 oysters every Monday + enjoy a mid-week pick-me-up with half-off wine on Wednesdays.
Gallery Pastry | All locations | Pair a sweet pastry with $1 oysters on weekdays from 3-5 p.m.
Petite Chou | 823 E. Westfield Blvd. | Sit on the patio and enjoy half-priced wine on Wednesdays, plus try Martha’s Fried Chicken Nights during Wednesday dinner service.

City officials are reminding the community about a call-out for ideas on how to redevelop the Twin Aire Shopping Plaza + Twin Aire Drive-In properties — which are looking a little bare compared to the new Community Justice Campus, which opened back in May 2022.
If you haven’t heard of the 28.7-acre drive-in on the southeast side, that’s because it shut down in 1996. As for the shopping center, it’s currently anchored by Kroger and most of the other shops’ leases are set to expire in 2024.
The direction for the parcels is likely going to be a mixed-use development, according to Indy DMD. That would include community-based retail, green space + a grocery store.
Proposals are due on Tuesday, July 18. Though city officials have limited this question to potential developers, we’re curious: How would you transform this site? Tell us those brilliant ideas.
If you happen to end up at Petite Chou on a Thursday instead of Wednesday, you can always try something new with its rotating souffle feature during dinner service.
