Calling all the Barbies and Kens — it’s time to break out your best pink outfits.

According to a recent Google Search Term analysis, Hoosiers are more excited about the “Barbie” movie than “Oppenheimer.”

To help you celebrate the release of the “Barbie” movie today (Friday, July 21), we found seven local Barbie-themed events to add to your calendar.

Operation: Barbie Weekend | Friday, July 21 | Hotel Tango Distillery, 702 Virginia Ave., Indianapolis | Cost of purchase | Stop by the Fletcher Place tasting room to try the Hiya Barbie + Hi Ken cocktails before you head to the theater to see the movie.

The Barbie Party | Saturday, July 22 | 8 p.m. | The Vogue, 6259 N. College Ave., Indianapolis | $10-$40 | Walk the pink carpet, enter the catwalk fashion show costume contest, take pictures in a life-sized Barbie box, and listen to DJ Gabby Love + DJ Mae as they give you an EDM spin on hits by your favorite Material Girls.

Development
  • Initial plans for The Stutz complex called for an entirely new five-story building consisting of 270 apartments with office + retail space — but now the plans include an existing Stutz building on the south side of 10th Street, along with two new five-story structures. The project, Stutz II, is expected to break ground in late 2024. (IBJ)

  • The Colts unveiled a first-of-its-kind “Indiana Nights” alternate uniform that the team will wear for their Week 7 game at Lucas Oil Stadium against the Cleveland Browns. For the first time in Colts history, the players will don black helmets + reimagined jerseys.

  • Pack up your bookbags. School starts up again in Central Indiana as early as next Wednesday, July 26. Double check the start date for your child’s district. (WRTV)

  • Live Nation announced it’s bringing back “Summers Live,” a summer concert deal of four tickets for $80. The promo will run until Friday, Aug. 11 + will give Indiana concert-goers access to 70+ shows including Sam Hunt, Disturbed, Bret Michaels, and Jason Mraz. (WRTV)

  • Congrats, ladies. Catch Indy Eleven’s doubleheader this tomorrow, July 22 at Carroll Stadium. The women’s team plays NC Courage in the USL W League Championship Game at 2 p.m., followed by the men’s game against Tampa Bay United at 7 p.m.
