Back to school season is here. The new school year begins in central Indiana as early as this Wednesday, July 26.
Did you know: Marion County has 11 public school districts with 132,000+ students. We’re giving you the 411 on enrollment, student-teacher ratio, tuition, and morefor the area’s major school districts. And don’t worry, there won’t be any homework.
Before we dive in, here are four fast facts about schools around the Circle City:

Iozzo’s Garden of Italy announced it’s planning a second location at 351 E. Jefferson St. in Franklin. The two-story restaurant is slated to open in early 2024, and will serve the same classic lasagna bolognese, fresh seafood, and signature wines. (WRTV)

The Indy Eleven women’s team took the USL W League championship on Saturday with a 2-1 victory over the North Carolina Courage. The home game saw a crowd of 5,419 — breaking the 1996 record for the largest crowd for a women’s soccer game in Indiana. (IBJ)

The Indiana State Fair announced its third wave of performers taking the Hoosier Lottery Free Stage. Acts include Samantha Fish, Quiet Riot, Three Dog Night, Skillet, Latino Fest presented by Radio Latino, and Breland. See the full lineup. (WTHR)

Zionsville, Indiana was listed among the cheapest, safest places to live in the US, according to a report from GOBankingRates. The town has a population of 31,702 + the list noted Zionsville’s average annual expenditures of $21,282, crime rate of 3.6 per 1,000 residents, and 500 acres of parks. (WISH)

Indianapolis physician Alicia Schaffer is slated to appear on an upcoming episode of “Jeopardy!” Alicia is an OB/GYN and attended the Indiana University School of Medicine. You can watch her compete on WTHR Channel 13 on Thursday, July 27. (IndyStar)
