Did you know Benjamin Harrison is the only United States president elected from Indiana?
Then
Benjamin Harrison was the 23rd president (serving from 1889-1893) and he was also the centennial president — inaugurated 100 years after George Washington.
Here are just some of his accomplishments:
He facilitated the creation of the national forest reserves through an amendment to the Land Revision Act of 1891.
He helped introduce civil rights legislation + established relations with Central America — resulting in the Pan-American Games.
He helped to create a unified party that would win the White House in 1896.
How cool is this — you can walk through the home of a former US president right here in downtown Indianapolis.

We asked you for your favorite place to get cultural food. Here’s what you said:
Benyue Restaurant reopened in its new Castleton spot in early 2023.
“How could you forget the Rathskeller at the Athenaeum for some great German food! Not only is the food and atmosphere great, but you can also support the Athenaeum’s cultural and arts mission by attending one of the many events hosted there!” — Mike S.
“Don’t forget about the great Korean food in Indy: Omoni in Carmel ($) + Mama’s on Pendleton Pike ($$).” — Henry C.
“Thai Taste (5353 E. 82nd St.) I was surprised with the variety of plates this restaurant offers and the flavor of the food.” — Eugenia F.
“I would recommend One World Market near Castleton for Japanese food lovers. The food is fresh and the market is like those that I visited on my many trips to Japan.” — Craig G.
West side development is booming... literally. Have you been keeping up with everything happening over on the city’s west side? From Cultural Trail expansion to Eleven Park to a handful of Central State developments — it seems like soon the west side will be the place to be — and I love that for this area.
