🎸 Going All IN

All IN Festival rocks the fairgrounds this weekend

Indy is becoming quite the music festival destination. In addition to WonderRoad, which returned in June for its second year here, All IN Music and Arts Festival will be kicking off this weekend Saturday, Sept. 9-Sunday, Sept. 10 at the State Fairgrounds.

Self-proclaimed as “the most convenient, easy, and comfortable festival in America,” All IN combines music, food trucks, a beer garden, and local art. It also includes “dreamsets” — live shows celebrating iconic music groups. This year, festivalgoers will have the chance to experience a Led Zeppelin dreamset on Saturday and The Beatles dreamset on Sunday.

Here for the headliners? Saturday features none other than Tenacious D, fronted by funnyman Jack Black, while Trey Anastasio (best known as the lead guitarist for Phish) & Classic Tab will take the stage on Sunday. Both performances will take place inside the air-conditioned Indiana Farmers Coliseum, so you won’t need to worry about inclement weather.

Greensky Bluegrass, Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, Cory Wong, and The Main Squeeze, along with a number of other bands, will also play sets at the festival. See the whole lineup.

Don’t fall behind the beat — single day or two-day tickets are still available. Looking for more ways to listen to music or shop local art outdoors this year? Keep an eye out for our fall festival roundup coming next week.

Last week, we asked what you’d name the two Brachiosauruses breaking into the Children’s Museum. Here’s what you said:

These dinos are a popular photo opp for museum visitors — from both inside and outside the building.

“Brian and Ryan” — Jasmine H.

Love the creativity — we’ll let the dinos take over from here. For more on their origin story, check out our article.

Man, hearing Tenacious D’s music takes me back to high school in the best way. Shout out to “The Pick of Destiny” for helping me survive a very long and sleepless flight from California to Paris in 2019.
