On Tuesday, a City-County Council committee recommended approval of a measure that would allow spending of up to $26 million to acquire the new Broad Ripple Park Family Center, despite concerns from neighborhood groups. After one year in business on Broad Ripple Avenue, Vegas Lounge & Bar closed and is now planning to open a new version on the first floor of the Morrison Opera Place building downtown, where Hard Rock Cafe used to be. It hopes to be open in time for a New Year’s Eve event. (IBJ)
