Baby, it’s cold outside. But thanks to the igloos popping up all across Indy, you can still enjoy al fresco dining without turning into an ice sculpture. Here are a few spots we found that were love at frost sight — just don’t forget your coat.

Vivante at Hotel Carmichael | Carmel

Enjoy Vivante’s French food while cozying up in an igloo with a view of the Carmel Christkindlmarkt this holiday season. The four igloos can fit up to six people, and you can choose from either soft or table seating. The restaurant even allows you to bring your own Bluetooth speaker to set the vibe.

Daniel’s Vineyard | McCordsville

The igloos you’ll find at this all-ages vineyard can seat up to six people. Pro tip: While you’re there, don’t forget to check out Winzer’s Wonderland, a brand new pop-up bar with a festive cocktail + snack menu.

Urban Vines Winery & Brewery | Westfield

Westfield’s original heated igloos are back and bigger than ever. The six themed, cozy spaces can host up to 10 people and include space heaters + ambient lighting. You can book a two-hour time slot now through March — Mondays and Tuesdays are the most affordable days to visit.

Pivot Bar & Balcony at Hyatt House | Indianapolis

Pivot Bar & Balcony’s igloos are perfect for cuddling up and enjoying apps + cocktails before a big concert or game downtown. Call or email ahead of time to reserve your space.

King Jugg Brewing Company | Fishers

These festive igloos offer a private dining experience for up to six adults with a minimum spend of $100 Sundays-Wednesdays and $200 Thursdays-Saturdays. The experience isn’t confined just to the holiday season; you can visit any time through the end of February.

Preparing to sell? Renovating is a great way to upgrade your home — and attract potential buyers.

Here are three do’s, according to Offerpad:
  • Add some curb appeal. A good power wash can go a long way.
  • Add new carpet + paint. They’re the easiest upgrades for the largest return.
  • Give the kitchen a minor upgrade. Simple changes like replacing worn-out counters, dated fixtures or old appliances can net sellers a ROI of up to 80%.

🍴 Low-key look, high-key taste

What’s the most unassuming looking place in Indy with the best food?

Reddit strikes again with a very important question: What’s the most unassuming looking place in Indy with the best food?

Here are a few of the top answers:

“I love Ichiban Noodles! The owners are so nice and the sushi is great. They don’t do anything crazy, just a great spot with a lot of charm and atmosphere to get some classic, hearty nigiri and simple rolls!”

“I love Patties of Jamaica. Stefan treats people like family. Get a frozen pack of patties to go so you can scratch that itch when it hits!”

Mama’s Korean is straight fire. Great dine-in date, take home to cook yourself, or take-out. They even sell Korean and Japanese beers to go.”

“Just finished my leftover Chicken Marsala from Vito Provolone’s. I’ve never ordered anything else in close to 30 years. Always wonderful.”

Tortas El Guero is literally a little shed in the Home Depot parking lot. But the tacos are fire.”

What other secret spots look simple but are slinging incredible eats? Let us know.

My favorite nondescript restaurant in town is Pa and Ma’s Backyard Barbeque. Its menu varies daily, so you never quite know what you’re gonna get. You’ll wonder if you’re even in the right place when you walk in — but the taste and the service are unwaveringly fantastic.
