Sometimes, you just need to get away — and that’s where we come in to help.

January is the best time to travel to beat the crowds, with an average 6% drop in prices, according to Kayak. But if you haven’t made it out of Indy yet, February is considered the cheapest month to fly from Indianapolis during high season (February, March, and April).

Here are the best flights you can take to escape the Indianapolis cold in the coming months. Note: Prices are subject to change.

  • A local husband and wife team just opened Indy’s first Graze Craze franchise location (9520 Uptown Dr., Ste. H) at the Uptown Shoppes. The 1,600-sqft space provides artfully arranged sweet + savory grazing boards for pick-up and delivery.
Community
  • Thousands of people will be visiting Indy for the NBA All-Star Weekend, and IndyGo wants to make transportation easier. The bus service announced it will provide fare-free rides between Feb. 15-18, plus extended services from Feb. 16-18 on high-frequency routes. (WRTV)
Sports
  • Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton will be a starter on his home floor during the NBA All-Star Game on Sunday, Feb. 18. Fans made this pick (for the most part) — public polling counted for 50% of the starter selection process. The reserves will be announced on Thursday, Feb. 1. (IBJ)
Development
  • Grocery chain Aldi plans to open a store on the west side of Westfield — its fifth store location in Hamilton County. The company wants to build a 20,000-sqft store at the SpringMill Pointe development along the south side of State Road 32. (IBJ)
State
  • In 2023, Indiana Landmarks awarded more than $470,000 to help nonprofits and cities around Indiana save meaningful places. The money supports efforts ranging from architectural repairs at historic structures to digital walking tours promoting preservation and heritage.
Real Estate
  • A New York City-based real estate firm acquired a 55,000-sqft industrial warehouse in Indianapolis (1840 Midwest Blvd.) for $3.275 million. The building is 94% leased, including R&R Plumbing and a Berkshire Hathaway affiliate.
