A 95,000-sqft building in the process of being redeveloped at the site previously known as the Circle City Industrial Complex + will be home to several new businesses.
The space at 1011 Mass Ave. will be the second building to open at the complex, which has been rebranded to the Factory Arts District, that stretches across 16 acres.
The new building will include various retail stores, restaurants, and office spaces, with a focus on local businesses — and it already has eight businesses all slated to open in fall 2024.
The lineup includes:
Bike People
Daisy Bar
Flags for Good
Legacy Tokyo
MVMT House
Optical retail
Salt & Ash Market
Snapdragon Salon and Art Collective
The new building will also provide an event center for live performances, corporate events, weddings, and more. It will have space for up to 30 tenants, which are available for pre-lease.
Originally constructed in 1918 as the Schwitzer manufacturing facility, 1011 Mass Ave. will feature vintage industrial architecture combined with modern amenities in its reimagined state. Many of the small businesses will be located on an indoor walking + biking path called the “production line”.
The Factory Arts District is located on the east side of downtown Indianapolis + already houses more than 140 tenants at 1125 Brookside Ave., including Centerpoint Brewing, 8th Day Distillery, DayWon Fitness, artist studios, and Fowling Warehouse.

In a previous newsletter, we asked you what you’re most excited about as part of the Fashion Mall redevelopment project and here’s what you said:
The majority of you said you’re most excited about an outdoor plaza.
The next most popular piece was new dining options.
Shockingly, or maybe not so shockingly, no one voted for more office space.
I’m really excited to see Salt & Ash’s new space at the CCIC when it opens. It’ll be five times bigger than its current shop in Fountain Square — which means more retail offerings, a workshop space, and in-house production that guests will be able to see.
