The owner of downtown’s Tinker Street is opening another restaurant. This one, called Freeland’s, will be located at Carmel’s North End + will bring new life to one of the city’s oldest buildings. The 2,600-sqft restaurant will focus on farm-to-table, Midwestern European fine dining. It’s looking to hire a staff of 35. Apply online. (IBJ)

Dreaming of a white Christmas? There’s a 26% chance in Indianapolis, according to Accuweather’s assessment. The study used historic data to determine how often there was at least one inch of snow on the ground on Christmas Day — it last happened in 2022.

Even libraries need a holiday break. All Indianapolis Public Library locations will be closed Tuesday, Dec. 24 + Wednesday, Dec. 25 to observe Christmas — plus another closure on New Year’s Day, Wednesday, Jan. 1. Before you book it to the library, check out its schedule.

Do you receive waste collection on Wednesdays? Your next two pick ups will move to a “slide schedule” due to Christmas + New Year’s Day. These collections will be on Thursday, Dec. 26 and Thursday, Jan. 2 before resuming regular operations on Wednesday, Jan. 8.
