Since 1965, Clancy’s has been a transformative force in the community. From its humble beginnings with Clancy’s Hamburgers to The Fountain Room, the group has become a staple for hospitality in the Midwest.

A walk down memory lane

Let’s explore a few milestones through Clancy’s history:
  • May 15, 1965 | Clancy’s Hamburgers opens in Noblesville.
  • 1970s | Clancy’s Hamburgers grows to 30+ units in Indiana, Ohio, Tennessee, and Kentucky.
  • 1982 | Grindstone Charley’s casual American eatery is born.
  • 1985 | Grindstone Charley’s opens at Rockville Road on the west side of Indianapolis near the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
  • 1990 | Michaelangelo’s Italian Bistro is introduced.
  • 1995 | Houlihan’s opens downtown.
  • 2018 | Grindstone Public House opens in the Castor Building.
  • 2019 | Grindstone on the Monon joins Westfield.

A look at the future

In the past five years, the group’s growth hasn’t slowed down.

In 2021, Clancy’s Hamburgers returned to the state of Indiana in The Garage, a bustling food hall located in downtown Indianapolis at Bottleworks District.
