News Notes

Open

Ford’s Garage opened its second Indiana location at 10416 E. US Highway 36 in Avon this week. Just minutes from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the car-themed eatery is serving up burgers, brews, and nostalgia daily.

Coming Soon

A fourth Indianapolis-area Raising Cane’s location is in the works. Construction has begun for a new location at 8739 US Hwy 31 S., less than a half-mile north of the Greenwood Park Mall. This will be the first location in the south Indy suburbs + is expected to open in December. (IBJ)

Development

The Westfield City Council approved a $123 million Park and Poplar project. It will be built on nine acres along the Midland Trace Trail + include 240 apartments, a three-story, 40,000-sqft office building, retail and restaurant space, and a 523-space public parking garage. (IBJ)

Sports

Pacers in five. The Blue and Gold closed out the series 4-1 after defeating the Eastern Conference’s No. 1 seed 114-105 last night. Indiana won all three games that were played in Cleveland. Good luck to the next arena that chants “overrated” at Tyrese Haliburton.

Tomorrow, May 15 is Free Community Pool Day. Butler University Health and Recreation Complex + Wheeler Dowe Boys & Girls Club will be offering free swim clinics to youth 18 and younger featuring water activities, swimming tips, and water safety fundamentals from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Register.

Even though the school year is coming to an end, it’s not too early to think about next year. The YMCA of Greater Indianapolis is opening registration for its 2025-2026 Before and After School program. It works with 10 districts + several charter schools in Indy and cost varies by location.
