Pop music fans, it’s the vinyl countdown — Sabrina Carpenter’s “Man’s Best Friend” drops Friday, Aug. 29, followed by Ed Sheeran’s “Play” on Friday, Sept. 12, and Taylor Swift’s “Life of a Showgirl” on Friday, Oct. 3.
With so many highly anticipated releases hitting shelves this fall, there’s no better time to show some love to the local shops that keep Indy’s music scene spinning.
Karma Records
The oldest independent record store in Indy holds a lot of local history. Does anyone remember when Ozzy Osborne visited for a meet-and-greet in 1984? Do tell.

Indiana’s oldest and largest Latino nonprofit has canceled its annual celebration for 2025. Organizers said that “out of an abundance of caution,” La Plaza’s FIESTA Indianapolis will not return in its traditional form this September. (Mirror Indy)

HarperCollins Publishers plans to build a 1.6 million-sqft supply chain logistics facility in Brownsburg. Upon opening in 2028, the hub is expected to bring 400 new jobs to the area. (CBS 4)

Indy will host the inaugural WWE Wrestlepalooza on Saturday, Sept. 20 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. The action-packed showdown will stream live via WWE + ESPN’s new platform, but you can snag tickets to attend in person starting at 10 a.m. today.

Taco ‘bout good news. Indiana-based chain Social Cantina hinted on Instagram that its newest restaurant will take over the former Gallery Pastry Shop location on North College Avenue. An opening date is yet to be announced.

Take a look inside the new, $2.2 million headquarters for the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department’s mounted patrol unit. The facility boasts 13 stalls and stables for horses, a riding arena, offices, and locker rooms. (13 WTHR)

A 145-year-old bridge in Circle City landed on a list of Indiana’s “10 Most Endangered” landmarks for the first time. Traders Point Covered Bridge is considered one of ~90 covered bridges still standing from the 600+ built in Indiana during the 19th century.
