Did you know that Indianapolis is home to several historic Carnegie libraries?

What are Carnegie libraries?
Andrew Carnegie was a Scottish-American industrialist who, through creating a steel empire, became one of the richest Americans in history.
But he was also a philanthropist, and one cause that was close to his heart was libraries. Between 1883 and 1929, Carnegie’s foundation helped to construct 1,689 libraries across the US.
The 7,500-sqft Spades Park branch underwent a $610,000 renovation in 1987.
