INDYtoday: INDY_Augusta Masters Tournament golf_APR26

The Masters Tournament hits the Augusta National course today through Sunday, April 12. We at INDYtoday aren’t exactly golf aficionados — but what we are experts on is food, so one of the most exciting moments in our book is the Masters Champions Dinner.

Each year, the most recent champion to join the “Masters Club” is in charge of curating a menu for other past winners to enjoy. Typically, curators use the opportunity to show off their roots and culture.

Here are the local dishes we would pick for our all-star spread... inspired by the cultural melting pot that we know and love Indy to be.
  • Signature drink: Peach margarita from La Margarita
  • Appetizers: Truffle whipped ricotta bruschetta from Maialina and a charcuterie board from Goose the Market
  • Second course: Thai green papaya salad from BODHI
  • Third course: Jerk lamb chops from Trap Got Sol & Jerk Junkies
  • Fourth course: “The War Pig” pork tenderloin sandwich from Chatham Tap
  • Dessert: Peanut butter pie from Yats

As seen with Dave Portnoy earlier this week, celebs love Indy’s food scene — but we bet no one places a taller order than Shaq.

The Wrap

I’m taking a long weekend off to camp with my family in Red River Gorge, which means the next two newsletters will be brought to you by my good friend Patrick. But if you have any can’t-miss Gorge recommendations, send them my way — my favorite stop in the area is Thatcher Barbecue Company.
