Lafayette Square Mall — which has dwindled down to 60% occupancy in recent years — is getting a face lift to the tune of $200 million, with some improvements to be completed by next year.
Owners Sojos Capital LLC will be renaming the property and some adjacent buildings surrounding the 113-acre site Window to the World.
Where does the name come from? The plan is for the mall’s interior to transform into year-round indoor “streets,” which will mirror outdoor scenes from all over the world.
For those who may not visit the northwest side as much as they would like due its lack of walkability, plans are in place to install a linear park stretching south to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway + a canal path. Pair that with a quick IndyGo bus ride and you won’t even need your car to enjoy everything this new development has to offer.
When we say Window to the World is going to have everything — we mean everything.
