Tired of stopping at the same old chains for a quick bite?

Here are five locally-owned eateries that offer a drive-thru experience so you can stay in the comfort of your own car this winter.

Command Coffee , 2910 N. College Ave.

It’s Toffee Nut Mocha January at Command, which concocts a new seasonal mocha every month. Forget Starbucks, this coffee shop + roastery offers a slew of specialty drinks, freshly roasted beans, and healthy food options right off Fall Creek Rd.

Yaso Jamaican Grill , 1501 Prospect St.

Family-owned + operated, this Fountain Square spot is known for its intensely spicy hot sauce. Though that’s optional, the vegetable stew is a must-try. Just make sure you order ahead by phone or online before you pull up.

Pro tip: If you’re curious about the history of Jamaican food and where its flavors originate, take a look at Yaso’s website .

Che Chori , 3124 W. 16th St.

Che Chori means “people’s food” + there’s a dish for everyone at this Argentinian restaurant. From empanadas to choripanes (chorizo, chimichurri sauce, tomato, and lettuce on a baguette), this artisan-style eatery is a great west side choice.

Alpha Neveria Y Tamales , 2802 Lafayette Rd.

Alpha goes beyond tamales with natural juices, ice cream, pork rinds + churros — even a cucumber split.

Pro tip: Their Paletas de Coco (coconut popsicles) are a refreshing followup to their pork tamales.

California Burger , 3502 W. 16th St. + 6020 E. 82nd St.

This burger joint has a bit of a cult-following. When it opened, there was a constant line down 16th St. for customers to get a taste of the classic burgers + milkshakes. Now, there’s a second location in Castleton, which has helped drive down your wait time.
