Sojos Capital, the firm spearheading the redevelopment of Lafayette Square Mall, broke ground on its community center project at 3540 Commercial Dr. (the former Aldi’s location) yesterday. The center will provide educational programming and employment resources + is expected to open in the first quarter of 2024. (IBJ)

The US Golf Association announced that Crooked Stick Golf Club in Carmel will host the US Senior Open Championship in 2028 — one of five annual tournaments on the Senior PGA Tour. This is Crooked Stick’s seventh time hosting a PGA championship, and its second time hosting the Senior Open. (IBJ)

It’s a bird... It’s a plane... It’s a flamingo? There have been several recent reports of flamingo sightings in southeastern Indiana. Our state is one of at least 11 that has recorded sightings since early September, a phenomenon that could be due to displacement caused by Hurricane Idalia. (WISH)
