Your morning commute may be a little less bumpy next year, but for now, check out INDOT’s list of road closures starting this week. The $14 million project will repair roads that saw unusually heavy traffic during the I-65/70 North Split interchange closure. (IndyStar)
Sports
Right on the heels of Sunday’s win, the Colts are facing another challenge — this time in the form of injury. Quarterback Anthony Richardson could miss more than a month after injuring his shoulder during the game. (WRTV)
Watch
Turning four chairs on “The Voice” is no easy feat — but Indy native Ephraim Owens has done just that. Watch him compete Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on NBC. (IndyStar)
Number
94,582. That’s how many pounds of Starbursts were sold in Indiana over the course of 16 years, making it our state’s most popular Halloween candy. See what treats won out in other states. (WTHR)
Try This
In case you missed it, we’re running our inaugural INDYtoday Pumpkin Carving Contest this month, and submissions are open through 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 15. To participate, simply carve, paint, or decorate a pumpkin in a way that is fun for you + send us a photo. Make a submission.
Drink
We’ve speculated on the origin of the denonym “Hoosier,” and it looks like we’re not alone. A facility in Holy Cross is starting production of a new local vodka inspired by our famous name — hope you like pickles. (IBJ)

One of my favorite thrifting activities is combing through the bins at the Goodwill Outlet on Franklin, where nothing is sorted but everything is sold by the pound — so if you get lucky and find some cool stuff, you’ll only end up paying pennies for it. Just don’t forget your hand sanitizer or gloves if you’re germ-sensitive.
