A moment on the White River
You can joke about the White River being dirty all you want, but it’s actually a beautiful sight when you get out on the water. For City Editor Nicole, paddling on the White River for the first time was one of her favorite memories of 2023.

Beware of slick ground. The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory and hazardous weather outlook into this morning. Freezing rain was predicted to hit overnight and is expected to become solely rain by 11 a.m. A 60% chance of rain continues overnight. (IndyStar)
Traffic
If you didn’t find out yesterday, here’s a heads up — drivers won’t have access to the 82nd Street on- or off-ramps from I-69. It’s all part of INDOT’s Clear Path 465 project that aims to improve safety + traffic flow on I-465 and I-69 on the northeast side. (WTHR)

A new cafe space is coming to Central Library on Friday, Jan. 26. Tha Corn Man Cafe‘s menu features breakfast sandwiches, salads, subs, soups, street corn, pastries, and refreshing drinks. A grand opening celebration will take place 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and guests will receive a free drink with purchase.

The Indianapolis Home Show is back at the state fairgrounds for its 102nd year — it’s known as the oldest home show in North America. This year there are ~400 vendors showcasing the latest and greatest home inspo in decorating, landscaping, and construction. The show runs now through Sunday, Jan. 28. Get tickets.
Concert
Four-time Grammy award-winners and Rock & Roll Hall of Famers, The Doobie Brothers, announced their 2024 tour will come to Ruoff Music Center on Saturday, Aug. 17. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 26. (WRTV)
