Crazy Neighborhood Grill and Bar, 1140 Shelby St. | No word on opening date | This new Fountain Square restaurant is offering an authentic dinning experience for the whole family with crazy good and fresh ingredients.

Community

Indianapolis Public Library Glendale Branch, 3660 E. 62nd St. | Opening Saturday, March 30 | The branch, located at the site of the former John Strange Elementary School, is projected to get around 250,000 patron visits annually.

Retail

Elf ‘N Moon, 1354 Shelby St. | Opening Saturday, March 23 | This is a local gaming + hobby store with custom game rooms, social gatherings, tournaments, retail, and a book store.

If there’s one thing we love even more than looking ahead to the future, it’s enjoying the present at one of Indy’s newest spots. Check out this list of the Circle City’s recently opened establishments.

Dining

Parlor Doughnuts, 13588 Bent Grass Lane, Unit 107 | Opened Feb. 9 | The Evansville-based chain, known for its layered doughnuts, opened its first location in Fishers — its second in central Indiana + ninth in the state.

Recreation

Five Iron Golf, 421 N. Pennsylvania St., Ste. 101 | Opened late 2023 | Test your swing at this re-imagined, high-tech, inclusive urban golf experience for golfers and non-golfers alike.

Krannert Park Family Center, 605 S. High School Rd. | Reopened late January | After $10 million in upgrades, the family center is reopened with a new indoor pool, fitness room with a walking track, weightlifting equipment, and a new enclosed outdoor program and event space.

News Notes
Traffic
  • After years of construction, INDOT said the “Finish Line” project, which will connect Indianapolis and Evansville, is on track to wrap up by the end of the year. Crews are entering the final phase, with most of the work focused in the Marion County area. Keep up with current closures. (WTHR)
Award
  • Indy’s own Tinker Street Restaurant made USA Today’s list of best restaurants in the country for 2024. The list features 47 restaurants from fine-dining establishments to counter-service seafood shacks. Tinker Street (402 E. 16th St.) was highlighted for its “inspired use of simple ingredients + celebratory atmosphere.” (IndyStar)
Development
  • The City of Westfield announced it’s planning a $6.8 million expansion project at Simon Moon Park, which is expected to bring educational + recreational upgrades. Construction is scheduled to begin in April with upgrades including fishing piers, boardwalks, and a bridge. (IBJ)
Real Estate
  • Indy-based M/I Homes submitted plans to build a community of 190 for-sale townhomes on the east side of Noblesville. The development would be called Townes on 238 and would include two- and three-story townhomes ranging from 1,500 sqft to 2,050 sqft, with a price range of $290,000 to $350,000. (IBJ)
Concert
  • Jennifer Lopez is coming to Indianapolis on tour after launching her first album in a decade. Lopez will perform at Gainbridge Fieldhouse Saturday, July 27 at 8 p.m. Tickets go on sale Friday, Feb. 23 at 10 a.m. (WTHR)
Biz
  • Coffee drive-thru franchise group Scooter’s Coffee announced it’s planning to establish a 183,000-sqft distribution center in Whitestown. It will be the largest of its kind for the company’s supply chain affiliate, Harvest Roasting. It’s expected to add up to 114 jobs by the end of 2027. (IBJ)

  • Looking for your soulmate? In celebration of Valentine’s Day, Indianapolis Animal Care Services created a “Love is Blind” promotion where you fill out a special questionnaire + IACS will match you with two to three eligible doggy suitors for a blind date. The promotion runs through Saturday.
Sports
  • The Indiana Pacers were missing several key players on Wednesday night, yet they were able to get a road win against the Toronto Raptors. Go beyond the scoreboard for the biggest stories on the Pacers with Locked On’s daily, team-focused podcasts.
