Step aside, Charli XCX and Lorde. Summer’s most iconic duo: Brunch and 90s culture.
Baby Got Brunch, one of Indy’s most iconic food fests, is back for its sixth year on Saturday, Aug. 10. Here’s everything you need to know to get jiggy with it.
🍳 What’s the word
This isn’t your average food fest. Think of it as an old-school rap battle, with local chefs duking it out to win awards for the best bites, all set to nonstop 90s hip-hop jams.
In addition to brunch bites from some of the best local restaurants and chefs, tickets include bottomless mimosas + bloody marys, as well as access to an open bar — so you can get sippin’ on gin and juice.
BB&B (Books Bourbon Bacon) took first runner up with this delicious dish last year.
The full vendor list is still being finalized, but one thing’s for sure: The best of Indy’s culinary scene will be there, from longstanding local legends to up-and-coming stars. Here’s just a small sampling of the confirmed restaurants participating this year:
Bearded Bagel
Bluebeard
Books, Bourbons, Bacon Food Truck
Dope Lemonades
Gallery Pastry Bar
J’adore Pastry
KanKan Cinema & Brasserie
Fever Plant Based Kitchen
Mochi Joy Donuts
The Oakmont
Whether you love sweet or savory foods, there’s more than enough brunch for you to choose from.
Each year, Baby Got Brunch selects a local beneficiary, with a portion of every ticket donated to a local organization that has a real impact in Indy. Previous initiatives have focused on food insecurity for school-aged children + maternal health and wellness, and have benefited The Damien Center, The Milk Bank, and The Patachou Foundation.
This year’s event will benefit 91 Place, a home that provides transitional housing, workforce development, and mental health support to youth ages 18-24 facing homelessness in Indianapolis.

Just when we thought downtown’s luxury hotel options and excellent music venues couldn’t get any better, a new addition is entering the mix.
Boxcar Development LLC, an investment group led by Pacers owner Herb Simon + family, plans to construct a 13-story, 170-room luxury Shinola hotel and a 4,000-seat concert venue at 230 S. Pennsylvania St. The site currently houses the century-old CSX railroad servicing building, which would be demolished.
Here’s a closer look at other features the project would include:
A high-fashion Shinola retail store
Upscale restaurants
Retail space along Pennsylvania Street
An elevated walkway connecting the hotel to Gainbridge Fieldhouse
A two-level, 253-space parking garage
Construction is expected to cost at least $300 million, and the development will open to the public by late 2027.

As far as brunch goes, I typically try not to start my day with a healthy heaping of sugar. But sometimes, the seasonal menu options at Another Broken Egg Cafe are too good to resist, like the mango + dragonfruit French toast.
