After years of construction, IndyGo’s 15.2-mile Purple Line is now running between downtown Indianapolis and Lawrence, connecting locals to several neighborhoods, major employers, cultural institutions, healthcare, and educational facilities.

Let’s explore the new Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) line along the 38 Street and Post Road corridors. All aboard.

How the Purple Line rolls

According to IndyGo, the Purple Line offers 18 exclusive stations — including the highly anticipated State Fair and Ivy Tech stations — and 13 stations shared with the Red Line. The route starts at the Julia M. Carson Transit Center and travels to Fort Harrison.

Service runs:
  • Monday-Friday, 5 a.m.-1 a.m.
  • Saturday, 6 a.m.-1 a.m.
  • Sunday, 7 a.m.-10 p.m.
At peak service, a rapid transit vehicle will arrive at each station every 15-20 minutes. IndyGo says 58,470 people are located within walking distance of the Purple Line.

Wondering how to ride? Pay your fare via IndyGo’s MyKey app or visit a ticket vending machine at one of the stations. Plan your trip using this tool.

Fired up in 2025: Indy Ignite to join roster of pro sports teams in Indianapolis

Indy is home to incredible sports teams and soon, our city will add another one to its roster.

The Pro Volleyball Federation (PVF) — which launched its inaugural season in February 2024 with teams across seven US cities — has added Indy Ignite to its league. The women’s volleyball team will debut in January 2025.

Here’s what we know so far:
    • The new Fishers Event Center will serve as the team’s official home court. The 7,500 capacity venue will open its doors next month — keep an eye on our Instagram for a preview.
    • The team hired George Padjen as its head coach — a collegiate volleyball coach with 25 years of experience.
    • Indy Ignite’s team roster is looking strong — we spy several Purdue Volleyball alumni.
    • Each PVF team will play 28 matches in 2025 — 14 at home + 14 on the road. Start scouting your tickets.
    • The team’s fanbase is using the slogans “Fan Firestorm” and “Ignite the Fire” — and we’ve gotta say, we’re fired up.

Happy Monday, friends. We hope you’ve been enjoying the fun fall events around Indy lately. If you have little ones, you may want to try Rowdie’s Pumpkin Patch on Saturday, Oct. 19, at Victory Field. Think: 500 pumpkins spread across the outfield, Halloween activities, and photos with the Indians’ mascot Rowdie behind home plate.
