Fired up in 2025: Indy Ignite to join roster of pro sports teams in Indianapolis

The women’s volleyball team will make its debut as part of the Pro Volleyball Federation in January 2025, playing their home matches at Fishers Event Center.

A rendering of the new Fishers Event Center shows the venue surrounded by visitors; there are banners featuring sports and events on the exterior walls, and a blue banner displaying the Indy Ignite logo.

Indy is home to incredible sports teams and come early next year, our city will add another one to its roster.

The Pro Volleyball Federation (PVF) — which launched its inaugural season in February 2024 with teams across seven US cities — has added Indy Ignite to its league. The women’s volleyball team will debut in January 2025.

Here’s what we know so far:

  • The new Fishers Event Center will serve as the team’s official home court. The 7,500 capacity venue will open its doors next month — keep an eye on our Instagram for a preview.
  • The team hired George Padjen as its head coach — a collegiate volleyball coach with 25 years of experience.
  • Indy Ignite’s team roster is looking strong — we spy several Purdue Volleyball alumni.
  • Each PVF team will play 28 matches in 2025 — 14 at home + 14 on the road. Start scouting your tickets.
  • The team’s logo features a volleyball surrounded by flames — and merch is already available.
  • The slogans “Fan Firestorm” and “Ignite the Fire” are being used by the team’s new fanbase — and we’ve gotta say, we’re fired up.
