Some people make to-do lists — we make to-dine lists. Many hot new Indy restaurants have opened over the past several months, from Italian to Japanese.

To satisfy those who are really hungry for fresh dining options, we’ve got details on several more Circle City restaurants coming soon, too. Grab your forks as we dig right in.

Newly open

Gather 22, 22 E. 22nd St. | American | Reservations: Unknown
This new spot to gather for food and drinks is now open in the Fall Creek Place neighborhood. The new concept — by those behind Byrne’s Frilled Pizza — is serving up coffee, sandwiches, shareables, and cocktails.

Julieta Taco Shop, 1060 N. Capitol Ave. | Mexican | Reservations: No
This hole-in-the-wall spot at The Stutz opened in late July + pays homage to the owners’ ancestors with heartier blue corn tortillas. While you’re there, grab a drink from Turner’s Bar next door.

Vicino, 350 Mass Ave., Ste. 150 | Italian | Reservations: Yes
Taking over the former Hedge Row spot, this is Mass Ave.’s first full-service Italian restaurant in over a decade by the owners of The Oakmont around the corner. Last time City Editor Nicole was there, she ordered the classic Spaghetti and Melon Prosciutto.

Nando’s, 834 E. 64th St. | Mexican & Brazilian | Reservations: No
A unique blend of Mexican and Brazilian heritage is on the menu at this new Broad Ripple restaurant. It was even featured on Indianapolis Monthly’s list of “Best Restaurants of Indianapolis 2023.”

Burgeezy, 335 W. 9th St., Ste. D | Vegan American | Reservations: No
This popular local burger joint offers a fully plant-based menu that is dairy free, meat free, and egg free. Pro tip: This is a casual, counter service restaurant providing both dine-in and takeout.

Pig Pen BBQ ribs and sides displayed on table

Which would you take a bite of first? We’re eyeing those juicy ribs.

Pig Pen BBQ, 906 Carrollton Ave. | Southern BBQ | Reservations: No
The Garage Food Hall’s newest tenant is now open — serving up slow-smoked meats + classic barbecue dishes, like pulled pork, brisket, ribs, and mouthwatering sides. It’s open seven days a week.

Hasuno, 435 Virginia Ave. | Japanese | Reservations: Unknown
This family-run Japanese restaurant features a full bar with the best Japanese whiskeys and specialty drinks. Pro tip: There’s indoor and outdoor seating.

Gaucho’s Fire, 3746 E. 82nd St. | Brazilian | Reservations: No
You may recognize this restaurant for its spot in The Garage Food Hall. It opened a Castleton location to continue serving up its sandwiches, loaded fries, and salads across Indianapolis.

Los Arroyos, 137 E. New York St. | Mexican | Reservations: Yes
This restaurant recently opened a new location in the Ardmore building downtown. It serves traditional fare such as sopes, tamales, and fresh corn tortillas homemade daily, plus modern cuisine including ceviche with fresh fish, lobster quesadillas, and a variety of tacos and burritos.
