We’re 14 days into the new year and we’ve already welcomed a new sports team + several new restaurants. But that’s not all we have to look forward to — there’s so much more in store for 2025, so get excited Indy.
Big events
Feb. 1: WWE Royal Rumble | For the first time, Indy will host WWE’s Royal Rumble at Lucas Oil Stadium as part of a multi-year deal with WWE.
April 4: Fishers Freight vs. Tulsa Oilers | Indy’s new pro indoor football team will host its first-ever game at its home field — Fishers Event Center.
InterContinental Hotel | Planned to open the next few months, it will be the first luxury hotel to open downtown in two decades featuring Indy’s highest rooftop bar. It’s now accepting reservations for arrivals beginning March 1.
Big Car’s Contemporary Art Museum | The new museum will open its doors inside a 40,000-sqft, 125-year-old former dairy barn, including main gallery space, 18 artist studios, a restaurant and bar, event space, incubator storefronts, and audio recording studios.

When will the snow melt? Well, first we have to get through light snow coming Tuesday afternoon and arctic air through mid-week with overnight lows in the single digits (and possible sub-zero temps Wednesday morning), and highs in the teens. Get weather updates with WTHR.
Opening
Salt & Ash Market is getting ready to celebrate its grand opening at the Factory Arts District on Saturday, Jan. 25 from 12 to 5 p.m. There will be a special ribbon cutting with product demos, a new collection launch, a $200 raffle, facility tours, snacks, and drinks.
Sports
It was lit. Indy Ignite started a fire over the weekend with a sold out crowd for their first-ever match against the Valkyries. Indy defeated Orlando in four sets: 13-25, 25-19, 25-17, and 25-21. The Ignite take their 1-0 record into their next match at home Thursday against the Grand Rapids Rise. (WTHR)
Concert
Chris Stapleton, a 19-time Country Music Award winner, will bring his 2025 “All-American Road Show” tour to the Ruoff Music Center this summer. Special guest Allen Stone will join him at the Friday, Aug. 1 concert. Tickets go on sale Friday, Jan. 17 at 10 a.m. (WTHR)
Eat
Calling all foodies: Savor the Garage, a one-night-only event offering exclusive small plates priced at just $5 or less, is returning to the food hall this Thursday, Jan. 16 from 5 to 9 p.m.
Outdoors
Look up. In mid-January (depending on visibility, the night of Jan. 17 or Jan. 18), just after sunset we’ll have an opportunity to see a six-planet alignment: Four with the naked eye + two with a telescope. The last time this happened was in June 2024. (WTHR)
