Memorial Day weekend marked the official start of pool season. The first round of Indy Parks public pools + splash pads opened over the holiday weekend, with more to be announced. A second wave of openings will take place on Saturday, May 31.

As the weather gets warmer and the sun sticks around, we’re sharing some public pools and splash pads to help you beat the heat.

Public pools

Know before you go

Pools are open from:
  • Tuesdays-Thursdays | 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Fridays | 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Saturdays | 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Sundays | 12 to 6 p.m.
Admission fees are between $2 and $5, depending on the pool.

There are 16 splash pads open, with an additional round scheduled to open in the coming weeks.

Announced

Caitlin Clark has never missed a game — until now. The Indiana Fever announced Clark suffered a left quadriceps strain and will be out for a minimum of two weeks.

$3.8 million. That’s how much money driver Alex Palou is taking home from his first Indianapolis 500 win. It’s the fourth straight year the purse has broken its record, totaling nearly $2 million more than last year. (WTHR)

Memorial Day weekend marked a record amount of travelers at IND. There were ~23,000 travelers heading home on Memorial Day — and 111,000 over the entire holiday weekend. Airlines even added 20-50% more seats to accommodate all the travelers. (WTHR)
