Mansion Monday

Today we learned there’s a house on the market in Indy that has an underground tunnel connecting the main home to the carriage house. It’s giving backrooms (iykyk) — but the rest of the multimillion dollar house is a stunning historic masterpiece.

The Carmel Cherry Blossom Festival has rebranded as Japan Springfest and is back on Sunday, May 3 with live performances, food, and family activities. Follow along on Instagram for more details on the free event, which was a smash hit in its inaugural year.
Punch, a lonely baby macaque at the Ichikawa City Zoo in Japan, has captured hearts worldwide with his sweet nature and beloved orangutan plushie. Closer to home, you can show some love to the chimps at the Indianapolis Zoo. (Forbes)

Today Is

March second’s the date, hip hip hooray: Dr. Seuss was born on this day. Celebrate his literature by picking up a beloved classic title from the Indianapolis Public Library.
Voting is open for the European Tree of the Year award, honoring the continent’s most lovable tree. Contestants span 12 countries with centuries of history in their sprawling branches. No need for a flight — cherry blossoms will return to White River State Park in a few weeks.

Arts

“Fashion is art.” That’s the dress code for the 2026 Met Gala, which is set for Monday, May 4. Want to join in on the fun? Try turning your favorite painting into couture with the help of local costume designer Jess West. (Vogue)
