🥤 Let’s get down to fizzness

Regular fountain soda is so 2025. One of the latest culinary crazes sweeping the nation is dirty soda: your favorite pop spiced up with creamers, syrups, fruit purees, and cold foams for a fun alternative to alcohol and coffee.

Dirty sodas blew up thanks to their omnipresence in “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.” In honor of Season 4 dropping tomorrow, here’s where you can get one locally.

Fizz’n
This shop, owned by a family from Franklin Township, maintains a massive menu of 100+ drinks (yes, we counted).

Twisters
Twisters is known for its “fluffy sodas” with fun local names like “The Irsay Girls” and “What the Hali,” plus a new drink every week.

Zo-Bot’s Sodas and Fries
Established in 2021, Indiana’s first dirty soda shop is actually a seasonal food truck. But good news: You’ll soon be able to enjoy its delectable drinks + seasoned fries year-round when it opens its first storefront in Avon.

Hoosier Soda Co.
Hire this Greenwood-based business to serve up Indiana-themed drinks at your event, like the “Indy 500" and the “Blue and Gold.”

Why March is one of the smartest times to replace a water heater

Most homeowners don’t think about their water heater until it fails — but late winter is actually one of the most common times for breakdowns.

Cold groundwater forces aging units to work harder, which can lead to longer heat times, inconsistent temperatures, and unexpected shutdowns.

If your water heater is more than 8 to 12 years old, March is often the ideal time to replace it before demand spikes and emergency situations arise.

Local company Justin Dorsey Plumbing, serving Central Indiana since 1986, offers 24/7 service with no after-hours fees.

Now through March 31, homeowners can save:
  • $250 off a conventional water heater
  • $500 off a tankless water heater installation
Psst... Take a look at replacement options.

Speaking of floral signs of spring, the first daffodils in my yard just opened up yesterday. I hope they’re hardy enough to withstand colder temps coming next week.
