As spring break approaches and cost of living increases, 46% of Americans are opting to stay within their state borders while traveling in 2024.

We’re in luck, Hoosiers. Indianapolis is the No. 8 most appealing city for a wallet-friendly staycation experience, according to a new report from SumUp. It analyzed various factors like meal prices, entertainment expenses, and cultural attractions to rank the most appealing cities.

Key factors for Indianapolis included:

  • Inexpensive meals are around $25.
  • Expensive three-course meals for 2 will run you ~$78.
  • Safety Score: 40.47
  • No. of hotels per 100,000: 19.16
