Now until Saturday, Nov. 12, you can light a few candles for what would have been Indy author Kurt Vonnegut’s 100th birthday with other lit-minded Hoosiers.
There will be several events to attend, including:
- A Century of Stories: Judaism with Best-Selling Writer Dara Horn | Thursday, Nov. 3 | 6-9 p.m. | Congregation Beth-El Zedeck, 600 W. 70th St. | $18 | Listen to a discussion about Vonnegut’s short story “Adam” and Dara’s new book.
- VonneCon | Friday, Nov. 11 | 10 a.m.-4 p.m. | Kurt Vonnegut Museum and Library, 543 Indiana Ave. | Free | Bestselling author Tim O’Brien will lead a “Slaughterhouse-Five” read-a-thon at this one-of-a-kind event.
- Centennial Birthday Gala | Saturday, Nov. 12 | 6 p.m. | Lucas Estate, 1143 W. 116th St., Carmel | $500+ | The black tie optional party will have a 1920s them, jazz music, dinner, and dancing.
As Uncle Kurt says, “Of all the words of mice and men, the saddest are, “it might have been.” Don’t miss out on this annual event.
