Independence Day falls on a Thursday this year — long weekend, anyone? — and there are lots of celebrations happening around Indy.

Here are a few ways to celebrate the red, white, and blue around the Circle City:

Downtown Indy Fourth Fest | Thursday, July 4 | 6-10:30 p.m. | 500 N. Meridian St. | Free | Celebrate the second year of this Fourth of July event featuring food trucks, ice cream, and beverages + live music performances and fireworks synced to patriotic music. Pro tip: The best viewing spots are the Indiana War Memorial grounds + American Legion Mall. View the map.

July Fourth Celebration at Victory Field | Thursday, July 4 | 6:35 p.m. | Victory Field, 501 W. Maryland St. | $15-$21 | Celebrate the Fourth of July and wear red, white, and blue as the Indians wear patriotic jerseys and caps to take on the Bats, Triple-A affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds.

4th of July at Belmont Beach | Thursday, July 4 | 8 p.m. | Belmont Beach, 1300 N. White River Pkwy Dr. W. | Free | Celebrate the holiday with a live DJ, hot dogs, and games, plus see the downtown fireworks from the historic west side beach.

Star-Spangled Symphony | Wednesday, July 3-Friday, July 5 | 8 p.m. | Conner Prairie, 13400 Allisonville Rd., Fishers | $10+ | Celebrate the Fourth with Symphony on the Prairie featuring patriotic music, special guest artists, and a fireworks finale to the 1812 Overture.

Independence Day Celebration | Tuesday, July 4 | 10 a.m.-5 p.m. | Indiana Historical Society, 450 W. Ohio St. | Free | Visit the History Center throughout the day for crafts and activities that explore themes related to our country’s founding.

Independence Day Social | Thursday, July 4 | 11 a.m.-2 p.m. | Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site, 1230 N. Delaware St. | Free, registration required | Enjoy first floor tours of the Presidential Site, cool off with some ice cream for $3, grab lunch from a local food joint, and experience a variety of family-friendly activities.

Taste of the USA | Thursday, July 4 | 7:30-10 p.m. | Skyline Club, One American Square, 36th floor | $35-$90 | Bring the whole family for over-the-top buffet stations inspired by cuisines from around the USA, plus live music and the downtown fireworks display immediately following.
