While many Indianapolis neighborhoods have been well-established for decades, others are just getting started — such as the North Mass District .
This week, city leaders and developers broke ground on the next phase of the area’s development, which is located along Mass Avenue just northeast of the I-70/I-65 split. The district currently includes popular gym North Mass Boulder and adjoining Box Factory , which consists mainly of adaptive office spaces.
First up and expected to wrap in spring 2024 is the Penn Electric Switch, which will include creative office spaces and a new Cunningham Restaurant Group property called Shindig. The concept and menu for the restaurant have not been revealed yet.
After Penn Electric Switch is completed, crews will pivot their focus to the Ingram Apartments, which will include 180+ apartment units. Construction for the building is expected to start in summer 2024.
