Krannert Park is getting a $7 million makeover in Indianapolis, IN

The west side staple will have a new family center complete with an indoor swimming pool, fitness room + splash pad.

It may look a little small here, but it’ll be packed full of new amenities.

Earlier this year, we told you about the Frederick Douglass Park Family Center renovations + now we have the details on another park in line for a makeover.

Krannert Park has been a community hub on the west side for 50 years + is located adjacent to I-465 between Rockville Road and Washington Street.

The family center will include:

  • indoor swimming pool
  • splash pad
  • fitness room
  • indoor track
  • heating + cooling improvements

The facility broke ground on Monday + is expected to open in the fall of 2023. In addition to the new building, Krannert Park will also receive:

  • 2.5-acre pond stocked for fishing
  • sports fields
  • pickleball court
  • walking trails
  • outdoor basketball court
