Every couple of months, a new trend takes food TikTok by storm — and right now, it’s the “girl dinner.”

While the name may sound exclusive, “girl dinner” is for anyone who enjoys the simplicity of an easy meal that’s rich in flavor and just enough to fill up.

Here are our favorite places to grab your own small + satisfying meal.

Verde, 2727 E. 86th St. | Queso fundido, ceviche, an empanada trio — the only thing more flavorful than this authentic Mexican restaurant’s selection of girl dinner menu options is the vibe.

Lil Dumplings Noodle Bar, 906 Carrollton Ave. | The menu at this ramen shop inside The Garage really gets our mouths watering. Their pillowy steamed buns — filled with ingredients like spam, pimento kimcheese, white bbq sauce, and pickles — make the perfect snack-sized meal at only $5 a pop.

Lace up, Indy. The Indy Ultimate, presented by the Indianapolis Foundation, is happening on Saturday, Sept. 9, with the start and finish lines located at the newly opened Bicentennial Unity Plaza at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

Hoosiers are invited to walk, jog, or run their way through many of the city’s iconic venues, landmarks, and public spaces during this three-mile, family-friendly race. (Hint: It’s the best way to discover downtown.)

Along this year’s route, participants will also be able to run the bases at Victory Field, take a ride on the Handlebar, experience Olympic moments on the Circle, discover White River State Park, and more. Bonus: Food and drink samples, including Sun King beer and Tito’s Handmake Vodka, will be served along the route — because hydration is always key.

The fun doesn’t stop at the finish line. At the after party, participants can enjoy a complimentary beverage plus a chance to win tickets to this December’s Indy Classic.

Registration is just $35 and includes a T-shirt, medal, and access to the after party. Pro tip: Use code INDYTODAY for $5 off.

My personal favorite at-home girl dinner is panzanella, made with crusty old bread and whatever veggies and cold cuts I have around. Ina Garten’s recipe is a great one to start experimenting with.
