Love stories can be heard all around Indy. | Graphic by 6AM City
For Valentine’s Day 2024, we made a map of local places where our readers have made memories. We asked for your help compiling everything from proposals to making friends. You did not disappoint.
Explore these local love stories by clicking on the hearts in the map below. Here are just a few local love stories that you shared with us:
“My husband and I met as interns at The Children’s Museum in 2017! We were interning for different departments but always found each other in the intern work room. He always made me smile. At the internship party at the end of the summer, we kissed for the very first time (the liquid courage helped a bit). Both heading back to Purdue to finish our senior year, we started dating and never stopped. We just got married this past July and even invited a few of our former intern classmates!” — Natalie + Nate P.

“My husband and I met six years ago at Square Cat Vinyl. He was playing a show there with his band. The previous week I had been sick, so I jumped at the opportunity to go out when my best friend invited me. We had a great time and enjoyed the band so much! I was immediately smitten with him after talking to him at the merch table. After some creeping on his social media, I followed him on Instagram that night. Later in the week he asked if anyone wanted to take him out for Valentine’s Day in an Instagram poll. I was the only lady to reply “Mmm yassss” and the rest is history...” — Anonymous reader
“Al and I met in 2018 at November Project - a free fitness community that meets at 6 a.m. Wednesdays at the War Memorial. Love is the ultimate workout!” — Teresa H.

If you weren’t familiar with Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton, you are now.
From the JW Marriott to the Indiana Convention Center to Lucas Oil Stadium to Gainbridge Fieldhouse — the star basketball player’s face is plastered all over the city for NBA All-Star Weekend.
So, it comes as no surprise to us that Haliburton is the most influential player on the Pacers roster this season. Of the team, he has the most followers on social media at more than 718,000.
Of course, that’s not the most impressive thing about him. Here are some of his slam dunk facts:
He’s averaged 3.1 three-pointers per game this season.
His most points in a game was 44 against the Heat on Thursday, Nov. 30.
For the ongoing 2023-24 NBA season, Haliburton is slated to earn $5,808,435 — making him the ninth-highest-paid player on the Pacers roster.
He became the 15th player in NBA history to average 20+ points and 10+ assists for an entire season.
Tyrese just reached 4,000 career points during Monday’s game against the Hornets.
