If you want your sauna experience to be less social and more solo, SweatHouz is a great pick for you. | Video by @abby__prentice
If you haven’t heard, the US sauna market is heating up.
According to a recent study, the industry is projected to grow by $151 million between now and 2029, fueled by Americans seeking new ways to stay active + socialize. And yes, Indy’s sauna scene is gaining steam, too. Here are a few places where you can try it out.
Sauna Social is a converted school bus with a sauna in the back, a cold shower, and a lounge.

Sauna Social
This Finnish-style wood burning sauna can accommodate eight people within a converted school bus. You can book 30 or 60 minute sessions in 200-240°F temps, complete with a complimentary drink.
Indianapolis Salt Cave Want some privacy? You’ll love this solo experience in a low temperature, dry sauna. Sessions are 45 minutes — while you’re here, try a halotherapy session in the Salt Cave too.
Cold Plunge Studios
If you’re like us, the last thing you want to do right now is take a cold plunge in a tub of 40°F water — but when you can follow that with a dry sauna session and some red light therapy, it doesn’t seem so bad.
🖼️ Contemporary Native art takes center stage at this local museum
Presented by Eiteljorg Museum
Here’s a sneak peek of what you can expect. | Photos by INDYtoday
We recently got a sneak peek of “Emerging Current,” the 2025 Eiteljorg Contemporary Art Fellowship exhibition, open now through Feb. 22, 2026 — and it’s safe to say we’re still thinking about the work we saw.
Since 1999, the Fellowship has been spotlighting groundbreaking contemporary Native American or First Nations artists whose work exemplifies the span of multimedia art forms, and this year’s cohort is no exception.
Also worth noting: each artist has work joining the museum’s permanent collection, meaning their voices will continue to resonate long after the exhibit closes.
Trust us, you’ll want to see this one in person. Start planning your visit (and get a first look below).

If you’re cool with a simpler sauna experience, a gym near you may have one you can enjoy. My personal fave is at North Mass Boulder; there are separate saunas in the men’s and women’s locker rooms, and I’ve met many good friends while surviving the intense heat together.
