We all have things we love about our neighborhoods — and things that, well, unite the entire block in frustration.
Good thing there’s a way for community members to propose projects to help neighborhoods thrive. The Department of Public Works is now accepting applications from community-based organizations for the 2024 Indianapolis Neighborhood Infrastructure Partnership , which helps residents play an active role in the development of their communities.
A few projects that you may recognize that were completed in 2023, thanks to successful partnerships, include construction on the Indianapolis Cultural Trail (at a cost of $17.3 million) and improvements made to Broad Ripple Avenue (at a cost of $6.9 million).
The program also released data
on the outcomes of this year’s work:
- Businesses positively affected: 145
- Homes positively affected: 1,137
- Motorists positively affected: 115,313
