Conner Prairie and the City of Noblesville are partnering up to preserve a historic bridge.
The Midland Bridge carried the Midland Railway over the White River and was eventually used by the Central Indiana Railway Company, but was abandoned in 1982.
The ~200-ft-long, two-span steel truss bridge is being removed as part of Reimagine Pleasant Street , a transformative project that will enhance mobility through Noblesville and increase trail connectivity to the city’s downtown.
The historic Midland Bridge will be stored at the outdoor history museum. Plans for the refurbished, reassembled bridge’s final destination are still being developed.
