We combed the city, combining our own experiences with a comprehensive investigation of online reviews, to sniff out Indy’s best ramen restaurants. Fair warning: What you’re about to read may induce stomach growls.

Strangebird, 128 S. Audubon R.
This rum + oyster bar has existed in the historic Irvington neighborhood since 2019, and is also home to Shoyu Shop — serving up Shoyu, Tonkotsu, Shio, and Tantanmen ramen.

Ramen Ray, 5628 E. 71st St.
This gem will make you feel like you’ve been transported straight to Hokkaido, Japan. It serves delicious and authentic Sapporo Ramen by choosing the finest ingredients and preparing each bowl with care.

This spot is made for traditional Japanese comfort food: Ramen + boba. It serves seven different ramen bowls to choose from and 11 boba tea options.

Jinya Ramen Bar, 9711 E. 116th St., Fishers
This spot has plenty of different bowls to choose from, plus a chef’s special, salads, small plates, and rice bowls + curry. City Editor Nicole is eyeing the Yuzu Shio Delight and Wonton Chicken Ramen.

Kizuki Ramen & Izakaya, 2450 E. 146th St., Carmel
Having studied abroad in Japan, City Editor Nicole likes to believe she knows a good bowl of ramen — and this spot is her favorite in Indy. With 16 different ramen bowls to choose from + the option to add your own toppings, more noodles, and broth refills, you’re sure to slurp.
