Any foodie worth their Himalayan pink salt knows that MICHELIN stars are the most prestigious honor for a restaurant to receive. Yet, for reasons unknown to us, the organization did not publish a guide for Indiana — until now.
MICHELIN announced last week that it’s creating a MICHELIN Guide American Great Lakes edition, which will include Cleveland, Detroit, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Pittsburgh — and, of course, Indianapolis.
As Indy’s biggest fans, we might be biased, but we’re pretty sure we have a wealth of local restaurants that should earn MICHELIN stars. Which establishments do you think are worthy of the honor?
INDYtoday’s picks
- BODHI’s fresh, flavorful Thai food and inventive cocktails are nothing short of outstanding. When we want to impress out-of-town visitors, this is the first place we go.
- If you’ve ever dined at Bluebeard, you know how special its farm-to-table fare is. In fact, James Beard — roughly regarded as the American equivalent of MICHELIN — has recognized the restaurant and its chefs several times.
- Where else can you get a pork belly, pineapple mango slaw, and brie sandwich but Love Handle? The ever-changing menu always holds exciting, delicious surprises when we visit.
- When it comes to fine dining, perhaps nowhere else in the city does it like Vida. Since opening in 2016, it’s earned AAA’s coveted Four Diamond award every year.
